Your updates push me to getting into the shop! #ai continues.

Started on the first crank, ran perfectly despite sitting for a year. I reek of exhaust and you couldn't wipe the grin off my face with a belt sander.

I need a harness bar. Anyone have kit / shop suggestions for same? Please advise.

The car is in a shop having a 6-point cage built to Time Attack open / SCCA Pro specs now. It was so nice to actually drive it again, even just onto the trailer / into the shop. I’m planning the minimal work to get it trackworthy (dash, brake lights, final dyno tune, etc) upon return, but being able to put a harness in and strap myself into the car is what I am most looking forward to.

I will get to a track this year. I will get to a track this year. I will get to a track this year. I will...

Yeah baby! Looking forward to tracking with you - let me know when you are ready! VIMC is an amazing learning track, though it's a ferry ride away. Area 27 is a brilliant place to write off your car, the track is fast, and there are wineries close by to drown your sorrows. Mission is an hour away and is a bit more like a prostate exam than a race track in that you can get your junk out and put it back again, ideally knowing you are safe.

Stuff I've got on hand to install:

Racequip 6-point harness
Racequip soft tow strap (2x)
Fire suppression system
Door pulls
Electrics for power windows, turn signals, and brake lights

A few folks have seen (and heard) the car lately, and that's been pretty inspiring for me. I've not been doing super well with all the isolation and my the tiny garage here in Vancouver, but I'm really, really working on getting my shit together and making progress on the car.

Y'all have been a great source of support and encouragement over the years. Thanks. I really appreciate it.

I've heard it in person, and it's nuts, the nicest sounding Z4 I've heard.

Thanks! Still stalled here, but collecting the stuff I need to finish, and working on a plan to get moving on the car again. I appreciate the kind words.

I'll be moving again this year. Requirement #1 is a big garage. Living space is requirement #2. This is not going to be one of those projects that just dies and ends up incomplete on BaT or in an estate sale. Dammit.

BC! Just a different place here with a better garage. Sorry I haven't been active here for so long, I just haven't been working on the car. It's going to happen!

I didn't post any pictures of the cage? Holy crap, I am awful. Well, almost two years later, here's the absolute work of art cage in my coupe. I cannot get over how well he fit it to the roof / doors / etc.

No, the harnesses are not in. No, I have not finished the dash. No, I have not mounted the battery. Yes, I still plan to do so. Yes, it still starts first press of the button and runs perfectly. Yes, I am a bad person for leaving it in the garage so long.
