You gave me the idea of an LTW system, but mine's gonna be permanent

by the way, does the car feel like it picked up more torque in the low-end and mid-range since you dropped all that weight>?
The car was down for too long during the process for me to give a real solid review, but between the stereo and seats she feels much lighter in the low end

This is the plan, but it's top secret

yeah I'm keeping my LTW sound a secret for now too. Its a LOT of research....

for example, most aftermarket amps weigh on average of 16lbs... There are motorcycle amps that are light as fuck, but they're too weak for most solutions. Gotta have something in between ;P

Cool, I look forward to seeing what you come up with. It is going to be a process for sure.

Did you replace the dash top where the nav came out? If you would or not ask them to fab a replica or second cadge how much would it be for me to buy it from you =-). Also, does that weight include them trip peices, rear panel and seat belts? Someone that does not have nav "I already have it" may want to pick that up =-) at least you get to see your board computer and have more trip calculation stuff.

maybe start a group buy for some lightweight replacement glass for the hatch etc. Someone out there should make us some if they get enough orders.

TC Kline already has the tooling/R&D done for a CF hatch, which would accomplish much of the same thing, even more so if you got the glass replaced with lexan. If you're serious this would probably be the more effective and route of least resistance regarding weight savings on the hatch.

I replaced the whole dash with a non-nav dash.

My cage was built into the car, but I can ask if they would be able to replicate it as a bolt in and find out a price for you if you would like

The weight only includes the stero/nav parts listed. There is much more weight savings from the other parts you listed and I will do a complete comparrison once the project is done

you DID scrape off that extra foam behind the dash right? hahahahahha

Unfortunately, as I'm putting together a parts list, my sound system would weigh ~24lbs BUT cost a bit under a grand. A bit expensive, so definitely not a priority right now

I am with you on the the sound system. It will be very cool, but it is expensive and at the bottom of my priority list.

What is the view out the back of the car with that wing on it? Can we take a pic maybe?

I would love a price on the cadge if you don't mind, not in a hurry for it so when you get a chance. I would weld it into my car as long as it was pre-welded up...

I will post a pic up toninght. The wing itself is not visible, only the brackets themselves. It atually works out really well.

I will find out for you on the cage with-in the next week or so.

Every time I see this stupid post at the top of the "new posts" list I click on it hoping that crfine88 has dumped some more badass parts onto his car...

Are you looking to adopt a son?

Just saw your pic of the stereo components. I didn't know our subs were that small. Sad.

Yeah, I was surprised when I removed them. The whole system seems a little sheepish when out in the open. I know our cars are all about the drive and not the stereo system, but still
