Vorshlag camber plates
I have Vorshlag camber plates on my car with Tc Kline coil overs.
I am unable to get more than 2.5 degrees of camber. Is this normal for this camber plate, this car, or all the above? Thanks for your thoughts or knowledge. BTW. The car is as low as most would want for track or spirited driving. |

Have you thought about adding a camber shim between the strut and wheel. The E36 camber shims work well on the ///M's. Not sure of non-M's.
I have -2.5' of camber on stock suspension, no camber plates and I am not lowered. Just an option. |

I want to re-experiment with AST 4200, can you share : -the part number for the front/rear struts, the rear spring height adjuster -rear ride height (measured from bottom rim to fender line) -whether the front perch is above the tire or next to the tire sidewall I am asking because AST does not make coilover kit for Z4M. I ordered a set last year, they told me that the front strut housing is from E36 M3 and the rear strut housing is from E46 M3. When it arrived, the E46 M3 rear strut is much shorter than KW (so rear ride height was too low) and the E46 rear spring height adjuster does not fit the Z4M nipple (the diameter was too small so it does not flush to the body). They wanted to send me the E9x rear spring height adjuster to try but I decided to quit and wait to hear success story from other people. Thanks |

i ONLY managed -2.7 with my kw pushed all the way in so i added my turner camber shims from y stock setup AS well.. i can get -3.5 and probably a touch more now!!!
BE warned this really limits tyre to strut clearance and i have around 6mm (kw recommends no less than 5mm) perch set pretty high, with the perch lower, this wouldnt be possible or i need to space the wheels more, not something i want to do!! So this was a great solution for me, funnily enough i will be doing some tweaking soon to get add alittle more than the -2.25 im running right now, ill be more than happy @ -2.6ish.... what annoying is on the kw clubsport or all camber plates it seems on the z4m is that you have to drop the strut to get any meaningful camber as the little whole up top limits what you can do, so the whole ease of use thing is negated in this application, IMO. my car is around 10mm lower than stock. from what ive read the vorshlag plates DONT work with the strut top reinforcement plate i run also.... i simply wouldn't run coil-overs without it imo.... great thread and very interesting....

Do the KW or Vorshlag camber plates also allow caster adjustment? If so, increasing the static caster increases dynamic negative camber on the outer wheel, so that you don't need to keep trying to increase static negative camber to get increased dynamic negative camber. This might increase your adjustment options.

2. will measure ride height the way you're asking but I do know the center of wheel to fender liner for the fronts are about 13" (stock is about 14") so say 1" drop. keep in mind the non-m sports pkg sits lower than the m (m has taller tires). i kept the stock tire height of 25" with 17" wheels and tires (255/40-17) 3. the front perch is by the sidewall. i needed a 5mm spacer to clear the perch. however with my new 17" wheels, going down 1" meant the sway bracket was in the way of the barrel. the 4100's are now sold with the grand-am style bracket which is huge. therefore i had to bring those down as far as possible and buy new shorter/adjustable end links. the bracket now sits inside the barrel (barely have clearance). |

everyone ive asked has the same as me??? -2.7??? this was with the stock camber adjustment set in the middle maybe with those set to the "inside" position id get -3.5.... i not get -2.7 as just over 1/2 way on the camber plates!! lots more room if i needed but for me, ill leave it here!! looks like -4 would be easily achievable now with the shims in place.... honestly, i'm guessing no-one would ever need that type of camber....

s2000.... heres where -2.7 is on my clubsports...., as you can see, i have loads left on the plate AND still can push in the factory mounts inwards...
to neaten it all up and get it looking as oem as possible i made some blanking plates to slot into the large whole that camber leaves, i also drilled out the stock nut covers, i then made some covers for the circular section to protect the metal work if i change camber as its easy to chew this bit up!! as well as the added camber i gained.... i also managed it to even look pretty nice :-) As they say, devil is in the detail :-)

yeah they are lovely..... they have the same setup on the bottom of the damper also..... from what i can see they changed the design of the top mount plate as well.
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/attac...1&d=1307622587 btw if you send your shit in for rebuild anytime, they come back like this :-) Very very happy with the clubsports, not a road shock imo however, cant wait for my first trackday with these bad boys on!! may stick the cups back on for that or see how the road tyres do (ps2 or pSS)

Beedub.
yes, on mine the stock camber is push all the way to max and the KW CS is all the way to max in order to get -3.5 I like the look of your setup by adding the black circular plate. I notice you didn't push the KW all the way yet. In my setup, you have to jack the car, loosen the 3 nuts , drop the strut so you have room to adjust the KW torx bit for the camber slide to avoid interference with the hole. Can you send me the link of the shims that provide extra camber? I want to try more camber as I still wear out the outside faster than the inside during track events. Thanks |

one thing to keep in mind is that the shim kits will increase scrub radius.
(that's if I'm interpreting things properly)
