F1 has never really been about overtaking, at least in the 25+ years I've been watching it; it's much more of a 'technological warfare between mechanical and aerodynamic engineers' type of series. If you want a large amount of overtaking, high speed oval racing is the way to go. This current engine formula is hot garbage. Just my $.02.

Ouch, that's going to leave a mark. Yes it will hurt to hear the cars down shift on Eau Rouge to charge the pack for the following strait. I may have to tap out if this doesn't get fixed by SPA
This is Formula 1 @ThisIsFormu1a1 Herbert cuts off F1 2026: “Even my grandmother could take on Eau Rouge with these cars” — Johnny Herbert criticized the current state of Formula 1, expressing disappointment over the reliance on technology rather than driver skill. Speaking to media, Herbert remarked: “As a former driver and now an enthusiast, I don't want to think about clipping, boosting, overtaking mode and active wings. I just want to see the drivers put to the test, but they are not put to the test in the right way. They are put to the test like in a video game. Is this the spirit of F1? Buttons to press at the right time? Where did the skill go? Anyone can do it, even my grandmother could take on Eau Rouge with these cars.” — Herbert lamented the loss of traditional racing skills, emphasizing the prowess of legendary drivers. He continued: “Real Formula 1 cars are now gone. The ability of a Max, a Lewis, a Senna, a Prost, a Schumacher, to always be able to push the limits, to control the speed of the car in those very high speed curves like the ones we have in Melbourne, was what really put the driver to the test. We have almost lost all this, what should be the DNA of racing is being lost, technology has gone too far.” |

We need a good blood feud. Its not Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost but it will have to do seeing as there seems to be a love fest going on in the top of the drivers points group.
