To each their own. If you're happy watching the highlights on YouTube, good for you, I for one cancelled my F1TV subscription the day they announced the deal with Apple and saved myself $90 plus bucks.

I will definitely be buying apple tv to watch the races, but I really hope they provide the same, if not better, level of service that F1TV had. However, knowing Apple, they're going to strip it of everything, and add commercials.

I lol at people who love apple devices. It's like everyone has stockholm syndrome. They praise the brand for being the best, and then go absolutely wild and throw parties when apple releases something that's been on android for a decade.

It boils down to simplicity vs. latest and greatest. Apple does a much better job with branding and reaps the rewards.

The last features to force my hand into an upgrade were Touch and Face ID. Otherwise it gets replaced when it breaks.

Being someone that makes a living from this. The Apple devices are considerably more advanced than the competition and the ecosystem is simply superb. The way everything works together is so good. Once you are used to it there is no going back. Plus privacy and security are important. Android devices still don’t even have a secure FaceID. I saw Idris unlocking his Samsung the other day with a waxwork figure.

Basically, like most things in life you get what you pay for.

Only time will tell if Apple F1 is good or bad.

I hated when ESPN took over for SpeedTV here in the states. They basically ditched my favorite commentary crew ever and broadcast the SKY production. But, we didn't get any SKY extras like Battle Channel or Driver Onboards. However, no commercials was GREAT!!!!

How Apple handles things is anyones guess

Except for Siri, one has to understand she is a Home Assistant and not AI.

Rumor has it Apple is giving up on AI and contracting out to Google. Get that and Matter up to speed and all of us will be golden....I hope!!!

According to Cadillac F1 CEO Dan Towriss, $700 Million Apple Deal is for the better:

Towriss acknowledged that there could be a “short-term blip” in F1 moving over to AppleTV, but was optimistic overall. “I think as you look to the long term, from our standpoint, we’re certainly betting on Apple,” he said.

I was wondering how this was all going to work and then when I opened my F1TV app I was just asked to enter my appleID/credential and I’ve now got the same F1TV content as before and the same folks now doing pre-season coverage.

I was happy to hear as I already have Apple TV and now I don’t have to payfor the F1TV subscription. Although I doubt they will have the in depth analysis and history pieces F1TV had.

Looks like Sky is part of the F1 package. Did a little searching, read that Apple TV F1 will have the F1 feed, with a choice of commentators (Sky, F1TV).

It is what one is accustomed to. I really liked old Speedvision (was that the name) before ESPN broadcasted Sky. Liked David, Steve, and Will. Got used to them, and the format. Then ESPN got the rights and just broadcasted the Sky feed. Got accustomed to that. For the last couple of races in 2025, watched the F1 feed. Did not warm up to the commentators or their format.

David Hobbs and Steve Matchett were the best!!! Wasn't Peter Windsor with them until replaced by Buxton? Never cared for Will too much.

Interestingly I’m seeing the F1 channel in my AppleTV app, but also the F1TV app is now continuing to work and has additional preseason coverage vs what’s in the AppleTV app. Not sure if it all ultimately migrates to AppleTV but glad for more coverage either way.
