2019 Z4 30 For Sale (New - never driven)

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
Hi, I won a brand new 2019 Z4 30 on the PNE Prize Home Lottery.
I’m not going to be keeping the car so I’m looking to sell for a reasonable cash price. Here’s your chance to get a better deal than any dealership would offer.
Full warranty. I haven’t yet seen the car so don’t know the colour. I understand it’s totally stock (no options) Car is in Vancouver at Brian Jessel BMW.

($58,000 CAN) Don’t waste your time or mine with ridiculous offers which will be politely ignored. Serious inquiries only please. Act quickly as the dealer has made a cash offer.

Please respond to leezenin@gmail.com

Thanks for reading.

UPDATE:

Picking up the car on Thursday evening. The colour is Misano Blue with black interior and blue stitching. Car at dealership has 90 kilometers. It will have about 10 to 15 more when I drive it home.

Base price for this car is $62,450. Plus dealer prep, admin fee plus whatever else they want to charge for.

You can buy it now for $58,000 CAN plus applicable taxes. Car is in Vancouver, B.C.

Cash purchase only. Price is firm. You’ll still save $6-7,000 over dealer price. Car is brand new.

Email me now if you’re a serious buyer looking for a seriously good deal.

Thanks, Lee

I dunno how Canadian pricing is but in US, most BMW models (other than special models like the 1M) can he had for 7-8% off MSRP even without haggling so your “firm price” is not very different from what someone could get new on their own.

Hi 3002 tti,

I fully acknowledge your point and donÂ’t take issue with it necessarily. IÂ’m not fully convinced the all dealers will discount 7-8% without haggling. Assuming though that is the case, 7% of $62450 is $4,375. Deducting this from the $62,450 is $58,075.

That being said, in Canada, based on the ads IÂ’ve looked at, the dealer adds an admin fee of $600+, dealer prep of around $500, delivery (freight) of $995 which adds another couple of grand to the price, if not more. There may be additional fees as well.

So the price of $58,000 all in, will still be perhaps 2 or 3% cheaper than a dealer price even assuming you can get the “automatic” 7-8% off from the dealer.

Of course, at the dealership, you may get to choose the colour and you can option the car as you wish and I understand that. But it comes at a cost.

I also understand that the car is “used” but still with less than 100 kilometers and full warranty.

ItÂ’s probably going to work best for a local buyer in B.C. or perhaps Alberta. Any further east or down south, not so good.

IÂ’m relatively firm but cash talks. At the same time IÂ’m not going to fire sale the car at $50k. At that price, IÂ’d drive it for a year and then sell it.

Honestly appreciate your input though.

Cheers,

Lee

Thanks Nicky,
I’m not a gambler but my wife and I buy a ticket on the PNE Prize Home
Lottery every year and also tix on the Children’s Hospital Lottery and the Vancouver Heroes Lottery (Vancouver General and UBC Hospital) as we support these organizations.

Never expect to win so it was a pleasant surprise.

Cheers, Lee

I don’t think we’re that far apart and your price isn’t bad, it’s just not great. My experience has been I’ve always been able to get 7-8% off msrp in the northeast, granted it’s been few years since I bought new. My 2018 i3 is a lease and before that I last bought new in 2015 but 2 mins on TrueCar could validate this.

Just saying if your asking price as truly “firm” I don’t see much incentive for someone to pay the same among a dealer would generally offer. Again not a bad price and it’s the price I would target at min if going to a dealer. Too bad you couldn’t just get cash value to pay the taxes and walk to the bank. Either way congrats on the win... I’ll take type of “problems” over the bs I deal with at work everyday lol.

Hey 3002 tiki,

Thanks for your comments. I think the asking price is both fair and reasonable. I’m firm like jello. If someone were to make an offer close to the asking price, I’d certainly consider it.

I think it works differently in Canada as there are no taxes to pay on lottery wins so I’m not anything out of pocket. I own the car free and clear with all taxes paid. So no pressure to sell the car.

I’m 65 years old so it’s more car than I’ll ever need and I’d prefer not to have that much money tied up in a depreciating asset. Not that I’d mind having a luxury sports car, lol.

We’ll see how it goes. I’m also going to list it on AutoTrader and we’ll see what the market says. I’m in no rush.

Cheers, Lee

Picked up car (with pics)

Had the car picked up and delivered to my house. Dealer invoice price was $64,875 plus taxes. After delivery, car has 64 kilometers (as shown in the pics).

Thanks for looking, Lee

I have to warn you that if you and your wife take this thing out for a spin this long holiday weekend in some nice weather where you have some of that totally awesome British Columbia scenery along the coast or the mountains and stuff, you may just realize that it was fate that you won this car.

Just sayin'. Good luck either way!

Hi Huz-Z,

Thanks for your comments. I’d love to take her out along the Sea to Sky highway, past Whistler, Pemberton down the Duffy Lake Road up to Cache Creek. It’s a spectacular drive this time of year but unfortunately I’m currently in the south of France. Gee, life’s hard (lol).

I also don’t really want to put any kms on the car so a new owner can have the “first drive experience”. If the car isn’t sold by Spring then maybe.

Hi Vanne, thanks for your comments as well. The dealer did make a cash offer but he’s looking at a what I think is a “wholesale price” for a used car. He’s discounting it 25%.

He’s working on the principle that most people need or want the cash immediately but I’m not in a hurry. At that price, I’d rather sell to a private individual in a year rather “give” it away to a dealer now.

I truly think I could drive it for a year, put 10k kilometers on it and still sell it for what the dealers offering. But that’s just me.

I have time to sell at around $58K and if not well, I’ll just keep it for a year. (Still open to reasonable offers now though)

I’m back in Vancouver in a couple of weeks so I’ll throw it on AutoTrader and Craigslist and what will be will be.

Cheers,

Lee
