interestly... i did the same....... but from install, i wonder if this is why i see 8psi on the 83mm pulley??? but i do every single time without fail.

i zip tied ALL the vacumn lines, the only one that didnt need it was the stack T piece which has these special little connectors that simply cant leak..... all the ess connections to the vaumn rail ect ect i zip tied!!!

10 psi

Another top speed run with very warm tires. From my calculations it made 7sec from 100-200 km/h and 31sec from 100-300 km/h.

throw meth/water injection at your vt1 for HUGE power increases......

REALLy good choice on going vt1 first, thats exactly what i did and really enjoyed a year with vt1, i then upgraded and absolutly love vt2 but in all honesty, i think vt1 is the better balanced kit in terms of full on usable power..... hence why cfrine88 has never upgraded... dont get me wrong the stage 2 + kits are just nuts, but..... alittle to much really......

Vt1 with some weight loss will be more than enough and what i lovve about vt1 is you can use ALL the power.... JUST but you can use all of it without spinning away the power...

Roff, we really need a catch can on this car..... i took off my s/c intake and it was liberally coated with oil from the breather, so i'm going for something pretty cool this time, again from the good old USA... After a failed attempt with my mocal unit that was too big i've found the perfect solution.....

so look at these pictures, look @ the passenger side firewall brace..... remember my car is RHD....what im going to do is weld a nice neat bracket to the middle of that section and allow the design 42 catch to hang in free air and have lovely space in that section..... not only will it look great but will perform really well and our blown s54s are proven to need a catch can from a conversation ive had with jason @ pro-efi....

and the catch can that is a work of art, comes with all the bits needed and even a dipstick!! lol!!

http://store.42draftdesigns.com/Ulti...Can_p_288.html

i'm hoping to get this paid up today and over to me asap...... even better i can simply take that cross brace off and have all the welding done and do the rest of the install myself saving some decent wedge...... looking forward to getting this in-place before the new track season.

edit, just paid for this so will document install once it arrives.... remember oil vapours lower the octane rating....

so........ second time lucky.... !!!

daaaaaamn that looks amazing. I'll let you figure out the install quirks and report back :P

I went to the dyno yesterday, and after waiting for 5 cars to go, I realized I left my rear tow hook at home. So...didn't go. I'll try again in 2-3 weeks

yeah it does.... looking at the info this really is as per its name.... the ultimate catch can, over the top?? yes! But its still cheap imo compared to the rest of the parts for these FI z4ms and after seeing the intake this is a must imo.....

i cant stop looking at the website, its a think of sheer beauty!! That company also are awesome when it comes to customer service, i already have a tracking number :-) So waiting for it to arrive, then ill make a template on how i want it fitted out of cardboard, remove my cross bar and get it to a local shop for welding :-) im hoping for a painless install...... ive laready got a catch can in my attic thats catching nothing but dust!!!

You'll be amazed at how much oil you'll recover from the catch can. That's a particularly nice one btw

to be honest i was really shocked to the intake splattered with oil, not nice at all also a small pool had formed on the supercharger impellar funnel, to put it bluntly the s54 NEEDS a catch can when blown, this particular catch can is a fabulous piece of engineering, i LOVE buying stuff from the usa.....

everything from the dip stick down to the mounting solutions to the finish, this is perfect.....

i will make a new thread once it arrives to document installation and how i connect it all up....

full details/specs on the ultimate catch can found on this page

imo yes...... when you get your blower run the car hard and take off your intake, youll see what i mean..... now while this isnt harming anything its doing afew unwanted things, specifically lowering the octane rating on fuel increaseing the chances of detonation and altering the a/f ratio.....

For cheap insurance its a must imo..... ill document exactly what you need yo do when this comes in for your own install, since this product is state side, things will be alot easier for you.

bare in mind my motor has only 10k miles!!! imagine with alittle wear on the 50k+ with a blower on top..... catch can is a must, ive always wanted one on this car but never worked out how to install it o.e style, now ive found the idea solution.

Are those oem contours or reps? I had those on my e36, most e36 owners hate the look too

those are reps. about 1mm clearance to brake caliper up front. Originally polished lip with silver face. The black rubber coating I put on is not meant to be permanent, I just prefer it this way
