Window no longer drops enough when door is opened

My daughter’s Z4 coupe begins to have issues with the driver window in that it doesn’t drop far enough when the door is opened (maybe half of what it should be), consequently, when the door is closed, the top edge of the glass is not beneath the rubber seal, it is seated against the seal, so a gap exists. However, if I were to press down on the window a bit before closing, then the glass would be under the seal when closed, hence no gap exists.

Any idea what parts are at fault as the window can be brought up & down otherwise, though I can hear some faint gear noises.

After installing a new battery, I had the same problem. You might just need to reset the function. This thread explains the steps: http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62834

I didn't think about that much since the passenger side was fine.

Thanks.

I had an issue like this after a battery died as well - this exact rest fixed me up. If I remember right, I had to do it twice as the first one fixed the issue I was having by created another, but the 2nd time got it all lined out. Easy Peasy.
