How do I remove/replace the E86 antenna base?

A while ago I was trying to walk around the back of my M Coupe while it was on a U-haul trailer and lost my balance. I instinctively grabbed for something to keep from falling and unfortunately it was the antenna and it snapped off at the base.

Since I never listened to the radio it wasn't a big deal and I never tried to replace the antenna. However, now that I'm getting ready to sell my M Coupe I'm at a loss as to how to replace the antenna base.

Can anybody help?

Sorry to hear that. Take a look at this and see if it helps:

Thank you for your reply.

I found this which gives more detail on the removal of the parts of the interior to access it. Was hoping I wouldn't have to go through all that. Both articles deal with removing the amplifier but not the base itself. I'm assuming that once I get in there it may become readily apparent what I have to do.
