Redline is 7900 RPM, not 7500. Reviewer needs to brush up on some facts.

I'm getting the vibe that the E46 M3 is being held up on a the pedestal over the Z4M. Each car has it's own merits. Having said that, the Z4M is definitely not a slouch. Not sure if the review did the car justice.

Rolling shots were much appreciated. I never get to see my car get driven from the outside.

Yeah...I didn't get the sense that he liked it. If he really did, I expected something toward this

The folks at Everyday Driver nailed the ethos of the Z4M platform.

Color me a Z4M fanboy, but the Roads Untraveled piece is a collection of misrepresented facts, M3 appreciation and contradictory driving opinions. He calls it both a momentum car a la Miata and minutes later capably fast without need for a turbo. Interior quality is compared to a C5 corvette and so on.

Nope, it's 8k. HP peak is at 7900.

Apart from the fact that he wasn't very knowledgeable about the car. It seemed like overall he didn't know what to say. From his other videos, such as the E46 M3 or the Garage 54 flame spitting Clownshoe, he seemed genuinely excited about the experience whereas this one, he just didn't care. Not saying that you have to say something nice about all the cars you review but don't just leave a bunch of pauses and silence in order to hit the 10 minute mark.

Others touched on the lack of knowledge. Did anyone else pick up on him saying that 'They made plenty of them' in reference to not being something that will increase in value? 1,800 certainly sounds like a limited run to me...

Definitely some good photography though.

Never watched his other videos but does not seem to be at the same level of knowledge as my personal favorite Doug Demuro - I wish HE would review an M Coupe!

Yeah that stuck out like a sore thumb to me, really dumb statement. I can forgive him for not knowing how low the production number was, but to say there were "plenty" implies that he DID know - and if he did, and thought 1815 was "plenty", then he's not the brightest bulb on the tree.

Me too. I've actually thought about reaching out to him and inviting him to southern Arizona to drive & feature mine. Might just have to give it a shot.

Please invite savagegeese too IMHO Mark is one of the best technical car reviewers out there.

About this video from from Roads Untraveled.
Well.. the video quality is quite good. But besides this everything else is of really poor quality.
The reviewer is lacking (technical and generic) information about the car.
Calling it a brilliant DD. Surprisingly most owners would disagree with him.
Saying that if you've driven any other BMW this one will be exactly the same. What?! This is very different from most cars BMW has ever produced.
Visibility is bad. Sure thing, but has he ever driven S2000? Or Miata? Or BRZ? Or Corvette?
And of course it's not a sport car by any means. But what is then?!

PS & disclaimer: yes, I'm an angry owner of my beloved Z4MC

PPS: the review from EverydayDriver folks was pretty good though.

I did reach out to doug - got a form response. I'm 100% sure he's gotten offers from other z4m owners in SoCal as well. But - I think the more people that email him w/ offers, the better. There's lots of quirky things in the car that he'd love - the temperature dependent redline, the roundel turn signal flashers, etc. etc.
