Journey to Pikes Peak in the Z
Well, I recently relocated to Colorado Springs and was able to do something I've always wanted to do; venture up Pikes Peak in a fun car!
I had to edit down the video to an acceptable size, so disclaimer: I did double the speed of portions of the video. That and somewhere in the process of converting it between file types, the quality went to crap. All shot with my GoPro and edited with Window Movie Maker. It was my first go at editing a video though, so I welcome feedback on that front. If nothing else, enjoy...

How'd the motor behave at 14K feet? I love the NA response of the Z4's, but if I was going to spend a lot of time driving at high elevations I'd be seriously looking at a turbo.

Haha, isn't that right. There's some areas around SE Ohio that can be fun, but that's about it.

Wow, really nice. Wish we have roads like that here in Connecticut. Btw, it would be better if you dont have the music sowe could hear the engine screaming (imho)

Yeah, I originally planned to have no music or fade it out for the good parts, but I ran into two issues:
- Wind noise. I either had the wrong back plate on the camera or GoPros mic sucks - The basic movie maker I used wouldn't let me fad music in nor out. I actually took her up a steep, windy dirt/mud trail Sunday and got some odd looks from the other 99% of folks who were on the trail in their offroading rigs...it was a blast letting the rear end loose around the bends though and besides the mud, the rocks were easy enough to avoid. I did manage to get a flat tire and so I had to hustle down without getting any *good* photos (removed runflats, no plugs, just compressor and she wouldn't hold over 10PSI). Next time I'll head up it and shoot some video and see if I can minimize the wind noise for a better video. Before I got high enough for the melting snow (mud): Here about how far I made it (6-7 miles) up Cheyenne Mountain. I'll get out nextweekend and have some fun.
