How do I turn off automatic dimming for mirrors?

Is it possible to turn off the automatic dimming for my interior and exterior mirrors? I am find them too dark at night.

I will agree as well... The auto dimming feature saves me from being blinded every time I drive at night.

no tint on windows but everything looks really dark, it sucks

Pull the fuse related to the autodimming mirrors. On the E46 it was fuse number 24.

I've had the car for only 3 or 4 days now so yes I am a newb. On a positive note just upgraded the navigation to v29!

isn't there like some hidden menu or something with like a turn off auto dimming option.

No. The dealer might be able to in the programming options though. I don't know about where you are though. I only have a list for the US.

It's not a programmable option. The only way to "turn it off" is to pull the fuse.

mine is really dark and it makes it impossible to parallel park. i do not bump park with my z.

Do you think that is what turns the headlights on. Mine come on when I don't think they should. Will turn off the switch. Looks uncool to have them on a 9 in the morning.

From what I have noticed my mirrors dim and my headlights go on and off at the same time so I would assume so. Isn't the rain sensor up there as well?

I thought the sensor for mirror dimming was a dot facing to the rear in the inside mirror - when a bright light comes up from behind, the mirrors dim, when there are no bright lights behind, the mirrors lighten.
