19's wheel offset-please help
Hi there,
I'm Keith from the Philippines. I just got a 2nd hand 2004 2.5l Z4. I need help for the best wheel offset for our cars. I'm planning to buy Hamman anniversary rims or DPE sl5 wheels. But i don't know what's the offset for this. I'm planning to go with 19x9 front and 19x10 rear will this fit? I really want a wide lip for the rears to give an aggresive look Also from what i researched from bmw z4 forums is that the H&R spirngs will give a really low drop. I'm planning to buy Eibach springs with Koni shokcs or H&R coilovers. Any of you guys have this setup? Can you guys post some pics of the drop so i can have an idea what will i get Many thanks to you guys. here is my newly acquired weekend car my race car (nissan silvia) with bmw m5 my show car lexus is250TT (supra engine) with jerri lee playboy playmate cover |

OH FO SHO,
the offset you gave me is for the front and rear already? do you have exact offset numbers that is tried and tested for a 19x9front and 19x10 rear setup? ianbiz, Thanks for the compliment, the silvia has a bigger turbo and bigger intercooler setup you can't see it in the picture. |

Those offsets won't work with a regular Z4, especially lowered on H&R springs.
A front 8.5" wid rim with an offset of ET35 is basically at the cut-off line before the tires would rub the inner front bumper plastic liners. With an 9" wide rims, you'd need something with an offset of ET 42, and even then there's a great chance that the inner part of the wheels would rub against the front struts housings. I had 19x9.5 ET42 (rear rims) SSR GT3's on my '04 Z4 3.0i lowered on H&R springs and it seemed to be another 7~8 mm before the tire would rub the edge of the rear fenders. With an 19x10 rim, you'd need something closer to ET50 than ET42, in which case, again, you risk having the inner wheels rub again the shocks. My recommendations would be to go with 8.5" front rims and 9.5" rear rims at the widest.

GP20,
Thank you so much for the reply. I know 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 will surely fit the Z4 roadster because my friend has AC wheels on his car with that size. I'm jjust hoping that 19x9 and 19x10 will fit on the z4 because i want a wider lip and low disk look. BUt then again i don't want to have rubbing issues. So i guess i would end up buying the 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 as you said. So the perfect offset (meaning no need for spacers) is 19x8.5 et35 and 19x9.5 et 42? Just making sure before i buy the wheels. I want to have almost close to the fender as possible to give me a good stance. Thank you in advance here's my friends z4 here in the phil - all out AC setup http://www.ogieabastillas.smugmug.co...07011#56467277 |

If I were you I'd dump those H&R springs and swap for some Eibach's or go with height adjustable coilovers. The H&R springs really slam the ride for the non-M Z4 and cause all sorts of issues. You can also try different wheels and go with less aggressive front offsets.

Why not do the simpler solution and just add a 5mm spacer to clear the rub?

10mm spacers would be perfect. My 10x19 are ET41 and fits perfectly.
