Convertible Top Damage - Restoration Products
I noticed some shiny spots on my top from time to time but nothing to this extent. Has anyone ever successfully reconditioned a top like this with RaggTop or other products? |

Hoping that I'm wrong.....
Some guessing here....from the photo it looks like the tops of the side mirrors are damaged as well, indicating significant sun exposure and perhaps acid damage. Many years ago, I worked at an industrial plant with large coal boilers. My car needed new paint after only two years of being parked there.
If the very obvious top damage is due to acid and sun exposure, then the fabric is weakened and may start forming holes and ripping. Color restoration won't fix that issue. |

It’s always possible that a quality convertible top product like Raggtop cleaner and their reconditioner could save the top, at a fraction of the cost and hassle of a new one. I’d say it’s definitely worth a try.
https://store.detailking.com/raggtop...protection-kit BMW also makes their own convertible top care products. |

My top is looking worn though it does not leak and is still tight. I think the wear marks are caused by leaving the top down for extended periods of time, but I am not sure. I've use both Ragtopp and BMW cleaner and conditioner. I was surprised at how great the BMW products were, and that they are much cheaper than the Ragtopp product. Sad to say, neither product made my top look any better on the worst wear spots.
