Steering Column Trim Removal
I searched the Z4 Post DIY section under "steering" and under "column" and didn't find an answer. I Googled "Z4 Steering Column Trim Removal" and got no answer either. Note: I'm not trying to remove the steering wheel nor steering wheel trim. I have reviewed the TIS procedure.
I'm trying to just remove the trim around the top of the steering column (i.e. the trim behind the steering wheel). The BMW TIS procedure shows that the steering wheel needs to be removed first, which I'd prefer not to do. So, does anyone know if the steering column trim can be removed without removing the steering wheel? Thanks in advance.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
