This is certainly not the correct place to ask this, but I just bought a Z4MR with an Eisenmann system already in place. Based on what I've read, I'm 99% sure it's the sport rather than the race. Is there a way to identify which is is by a stamping on the actual muffler or similar?

Unfortunately there isn't really a way to tell by just looking at the muffler. Eisenmann now just started stamping their mufflers Race/Sport in order to stop any confusion (like in this situation), but that only happened about 2 months ago. The other way to tell is to look inside the muffler tips, if you see perforation, more than likely it'll be Sport, if you don't see that, then it's going to be a Race muffler.

Thanks. The inside of the tips are perforated, confirming my thought that it is the Sport.

I have the Eisenmann sport (4x83mm) on my 07 ///M and I don't notice any drone at all. Hubby had a Gintani on his e93 M3 last summer and it the noise nearly drove him mad (it was worse with the roof up). The Eisenmann on the ZM has a nice throaty rumble, but no drone.

Yes, but not painfully so.

I think (and Finnegan agrees) it helps you to hear the engine and therefore with rev matching, especially if you drive a coupe and not a vert.

PM on the way. And yes, it is louder than stock, but as mentioned above, it's nothing to demand attention by any unwanted police officers... The Ferrari 430 Scud is louder than this and that car is stock, so you wont have any issues from Police or CHP.

It's DEFINITELY not too loud for a 'vert. It's just that with a coupe, it's tougher to hear the exhaust (we can't put the top down). It's still a sexy sound even if you don't need to rev match. You'll like it.
