Definitely gonna have them do a third paint attempt when I come back from my vacation. Can't be showing off my new bumper with the paint color off. =( I'd be too embarrassed!

No progress. Back from my vacation. Hopefully third time will be a charm for the paint match.

Here is more of a profile shot with a bit more lighting. Still needs a repaint. It really rounds out the front and takes away the overbite look.

The simple answer to price is "way too much". The Hamann bumper itself cannot be found for under 1700. That is unpainted. I also had my paint place eliminate the lights and the headlight washer holes, which was a lot of fiberglass labor. The total price is north of 3k with the added fiberglass work. If you want to keep the added lights and headlight washers it is dramatically cheaper. I think the lights that come with the bumper make it too busy and are totally unnecessary... so removing them was a must for me. This is a lot of money for a bumper lid and I might have not done it if I knew how much it was gonna cost when I started but I'm rarely rational when it comes to my car. =)

I will eventually connect the holes in the bumper to the brake vents. As the car sits right now it is stripped of plastic under panels and brake vents because the shop is still trying to get the color right. They do really good work and great paint matching but this fiberglass cover has proved to be difficult for them to paint match.

I've been too busy to do anything on my car. The 3rd spray attempt is scheduled for June 4th. After that I will put together the brake vents and grills and underpanels. I've missed driving my car!

Which shop are you using for the paint and body work?

I can't wait to see a proper photo shoot when it's finished. It looks great so far.

Chapparone in Clairemont. They do a ton of nice BMWs. The owner used to have a nice E46M when I also had one. Their paint match on my TiAg M3 was always perfect.

Did a visual paint check today on a sideskirt they test painted. I'm excited that it's dead on! They are gonna spray everything else and I'll hopefully have the car back by next week!! Interestingly, the shop owner said they added some red to the paint to get it to perfectly match. Here's a pic before the respray hanging with some other M buddies.

Looks good. Always good to hear about a shop willing to stand behind their work.

I think it looks fantastic. It certainly cures the overbite look that the M's have which is a bit bothersome. I like that it has functional brake ducting. I think it complements the CSL's very nicely. Looks great.

Thanks! It definitely does cure the overbite look! Sorry I have not posted updated pictures. I work a lot and really rarely work on my M which has a few projects going on at the same time. It's not my daily driver so it can sit for months without moving. Some day I'll drive it again!

Finally dialed in the front bumper and installed the ducts. Sorry to those that wanted to see it in person months ago. I rarely put in the time to work on her.
