Camera Mount for Z4 Roadster?

I started using my 2007 Z4 roadster at the track and I was wondering what my options are for camera mounts? Anyone done something between the roll bars or along those lines?

Thanks for your help in advance!

There's a [Z3] M Roadster I see at autocrosses quite frequently that mounts their camera on the trunk.

This is what I used at the last autocross. With some industrial double sided tape you can mount it virtually ANYWHERE.

It's small, light-weight, and easy to use. A suction cup mount would come in handy for glass surfaces, but that's not the problem we're facing. You can mount the scotch-lock that comes with the package horizontally on the parcel shelf behind the seat, and mount the camera and rotate it to face the front.

I used a $13 mount plus my iPhone 4. It would vibrate quite a bit if I mount it by itself, so I jammed a small post-it note between the side of the mount and the rearview mirror. No problems, and much cheaper than the other options

If you have a wide angle lens and place it between the roll bars, you could end up looking like a Dr. Seuss character. I have a few videos I'm embarrassed to show anyone because it looks like a Brontosaurus is driving my car.

One of my favorite places to mount the GoPro is right below the front bumper grills using the suction cup. It really picks up the engine scream, and the combination of a wide angle lens and low mounting gives the illusion that you're driving twice as fast as you actually are. I'm not sure how legal this is on the track, but it's great for any sort of spirited driving.

I had used "sticky pod" (http://www.stickypod.com/) in the past especially in South Carolina during Homecoming weekends on the track.

It held my Sony camera pretty well back then.

I ran a my mount between the rollover protection bars last year using some home depot 3/4" aluminum squares, a bracket, and some other pieces. Check YouTube.com/gol737 and you will see how steady the camera is. If you need, I can take some pictures of the whole apparatus. Cost about $15 in parts and paint.

This year, I will try attaching to back of recaro seats, but may go back to last year's setup.

Can you post a picture of your current mount?
