Well, I guess I'll leave the scathing to everyone else. If you like it, that's all that matters... unless you find it difficult to pick up chicks with it. Then maybe you should mod it back to the original style.

Wow! I'm shocked at all the negative replies. I think it looks incredible Y

Yes there are some small details that would make it flow better.

1. Wheels is the biggest issue. They are quite conservative and don't quite fill out the fenders. Yet you have a DTM, Hardcore race look. Some sort of modular step-lip wheel that fill the fenders will make all the difference. Without wheels to fill out better it can be perceived like those old "wings west" japanese ground effects cars!

2. Exhaust - same thing. Needs be more aggressive looking to fit the rest of the car. Perhaps dual tips or titanium. It also needs to sound super aggressive like; perhaps like muffler delete setup. People will be looking at those super wide fenders and aggressive chin thinking is a race car on the street. So it needs to sound the part.

Thats it. Gurantee if you made these changes everyone (at least motorsports fans) would be drooling at how you have a race care for the street!

Here are some pics of the real deal. Note the large rear openings, huge front chin etc. You did a great job!

I too have been following this car since near the beginning and unfortunately I'd have to agree with a majority of the comments and show my dissapointment. I guess it's the orange that seems to be the issue for me. If the white was complemented by the same red/blue stripes of the BMW motorsport car that seems to be your inspiration, I think the repsonses would have been much different. The wheels do not bother me as much as the orange. jus my two cents

IF that lip was rounded it would be perfect. I've followed this from day one, and must say it looks awesome.

Hey man- congrats on creativity and making the car your very own. It was a bold change and as long as you love it, who cares. It is one of a kind and I bet is big fun.

Congrats again!

I'm sorry... this looks horrible..

I expect this on a honda.. or something NON german.. even american..

but eh.. the only thing i like are those G-Power wheels.. i fell in love with them at first site, but $3200 for a set with out wheels is crazy.

You did a wonderful job on restyling your Z! Congradulations, you are extremely talanted. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the Z is nothing to write home about in the looks department in the first place, but it is absolutely ate up with style. Your custom work is great.

To the harsh critics, lets see how great of design and work you do, come on, put it up....show us.

Heres a better pic showing off the paint a bit better

Overall the project looks good i think. The only downfall as most on here point out is the front bumper, it does not flow well with hte rest of the car. but everything else looks good, its actually gonna ressemble my car once im done with it in about 2 months. But im going in a sligtly different direction. Ill post pics up as soon as its done!

"The paint job is done with House Of Kolor Snow white pearl and for the stripes/mirrors it's Tangelo pearl. Finallt done with eight layer of clearcoat."

This is a good photo, I LOVE the Snow white pearl! Not sure about the orange, but it is striking and stands out well. Although I am wondering if the blue within the BMW roundel could have also been captured in a pearl like form, and also would have looked good. Which would have allowed you to keep the original roundels. Either way, looks good!

Theres definitely a lot of money in this, but it doesn't look good to me.

It's kind of unfair but when someone tries to make a car look like another and doesn't go all the way, it usually ends up in fail land. The biggest gripe I have is the paint scheme. Second gripe I have is the wheels that don't fit flush and have a poor design. Third is shaved badges, the car looks very unfinished.

Agreed. Needs to be a different color and needs much more aggressive wheels. Definitely looks unfinished in its current state.

Definitely commend you on your creativity and financial dedication to this project though. If you love it, then screw what we think. Enjoy!

As a senior designer... the reason why ppl here think ur car looks like crap and the BMW motorsport one looks good, it is because the motorsport one is covered with stickers. It adds detail to the bulkiness of the wide body kit and make the holes acceptable. You need to add some vinyl graphics to that thing to make it look less boring.
