Convertible Seal

Hi Gang

The hydraulic cylinders on my 2003 z4 2.5i need to be replaced. Found a few good videos to watch regarding how to remove the top and got that done last night.

Being 20 years old, the seal between the body and the convertible top is breaking down/tearing. I want to get a replacement. Can someone suggest a source? I have not found a BMW part number but also wondering if there is a generic that would work.

The seal in question is on the left side of the box in the photo with the pieces on it:

The seal your seeking is factory installed, waterproof and is actually a part of the convertible roof. It's a shame that the seal failed since the cloth itself appears to be in nice shape. Your options are now limited to a new top or a used top perhaps from Ebay or another source.
