Has anybody thought about welding new tips on the stock mufflers?

no because that doesn't solve the problem of the car looking like it has 2 balls hanging out the back from the rear.

you can do it. the stock tips are held in by rivets. it would take a while. ive seen some M3s do it. the end result is pretty cool.

i would just get an exhaust. bigger tips=more sound

just get the muffler, why weld on new tips and have to worry about 4 of them coming out exactly even. if you're going to touch that area of the car ,aside from looks you might as well get the sound factor, no?

why would you say that, it is ridiculouslly loud (right?) and i wouldn't want it to sound like a ricer. Would it? I also wouldn't want to sacrifice performance. i really am not about gaining to much performance i just wouldn't want to lose any.

its loud but sounds so good. race car like. i dont even listen to the radio anymore. if you get the ESS tune you actually gain hp with muffler bypass.
