E85 prices

What's with the outrageous prices I'm seeing for E85's? Hell i'm finding E89 at better prices.

Didn’t notice, just thought if anything the prices had stabilized. Where are you seeing this if you don’t mind me asking...?

1. Clean E85's becoming more rare every day. I'm sure there are lots of turds out there for cheap, but if you want a nice one, expect to pay.

2. E89 is a dog with fleas IMHO. No longer a sports car, turned into hairdresser's car. Not surprised values wouldn't be higher than the original.

We were recently in an accident in our 2006 Z4 3.0si. The insurance company fixed it because they valued the car at over $13,000 based upon its condition. I couldn't believe the value they assigned. I expected $8-9,000 valuation.

My 2003 Z4 2.5 with 140k miles is about to result in a total loss, any idea for a number I should fight for?

NADA.com says clean retail is $7,125. What I would do is look for a similar car on the web and use it as your ammo. Tell them you want a comparable replacement and "X" is what it will cost. I did that with an '87 Jetta GLI years ago. Just did a quick search on Autotrader. Lots of 2003 2.5's and the range is very wide $5k - 10k depending on mileage.

Just seeing low mileage clean E85, for upper teens low 20's. Then you find a m model it's 30-40,000.

I won't take less than 15k for my 07 3.0si with M seats, 6sp, 63k, mint condition. Took me over a year to find it

Those are coupe prices, and really nice coupes at that. Roadies will be $5K less, if not more. There are more than 10 times as many roadsters as coupes.

unreliable

I spoke to a BMW head mechanic that manages over 35 mechanics. He is a very intelligent person not just a experienced mechanic who has gone up the ranks due to years experience.
He noted that the e89 was a "experiment" and that it has many flaws. He said that the twin turbo engine is the worst. He also noted that it also has many electrical glitches.
thus I settled for the z4m instead of the newer e89 n54 twin turbo that I really wanted, in the end, the z4m is much more fun than the e89 i wanted to buy and my 15 boxster GTS i sold 6 months ago.

Because the 3.0si Coupe looks a million times better than the E89. They seriously destroyed the aesthetics with that model. I also paid 55K when I bought mine brand new >.<;
