Custom exhaust

I'm getting ready to order a custom built exhaust from JMB Performance shop, I'm just undecided if I should go for 2.5" or 3" piping? Any thoughts?

2 - 2.5 will flow as much as 1 - 3 from what I understand

Pokey britches has a 3" system on his car.
Maybe he will chime in with his thoughts.

I recommend going with 2.5" and have them put in resonators in place of the section one cats. It will turn down the rasp overall. No mufflers might be too loud if you also have catless headers

The standard exhaust piping on a Moupe is 2.5" and it's stainless steel. I only swapped out my mufflers, but I have a Euro Moupe.

I have 3" aluminum piping and the clearance is tight being that I used v band clamps instead of standard flanges and I have no resonators what so ever and also have CSL headers. Needless to say it is EXTREMELY LOUD! I'm curious to know myself what the dB level is when I rev it, but you can definitely hear me coming down anywhere and I do set off alarms on cars when I'm driving around. Your head literally starts to hurt after awhile in the car so no long trips in it anymore. I might have a video clip somewhere of my car that I might be able to post up, but PM and I can shoot it over if you are curious to how loud it is.

For the OP.
I fabbed the system in the vid below myself with dual cats and a Magnaflow using 2-1/2 pipes front to back and header
I do not like how raspy it is and the drone is terrible.
I will sort out a different muffler this winter.
Thought it could give you an idea what yours could sound like.

My Custom Exhaust

This is my BMW Z4. 2003 3.0i M54b30 with ESS TS2 supercharger. It had issues with getting rid of the exhaust gasses with the stock exhaust so I had this done.

Many of you will think this will be loud and droney... It isn't. this setup is seriously loud when accelerating fast, But as soon as you settle into a cruise.... the noise goes and its as quiet as a stock setup.

Below are some sound clips of my car, I have recently started playing with a GoPro trying to find the ideal setup for sound and video at high speeds

I hope people enjoy the sound of my car as much as I do. I will be making more videos of cruising sounds in the cabin as well as other car sounds of being overtaken by this car (which sounds utterly fantastic).

Comments on my video are welcome, good or bad. I always like criticisms.

Kris.
