Headlight Lens

My headlights seem like they are sandblasted with some deep rock chips. Was wondering if anyone replaced their headlight lens (if it is even possible). Was thinking of getting a headlight film to protect it once i get a new one.

I think you are going to need a new headlight assembly. Replacing the lens alone would be very difficult to do and I doubt they even sell the lens. Have you tried one of the cleaning kits? You may be surprised what it can accomplish.

As far as the lens, I'm not sure if you can replace them. I looked on realoem.com quickly and couldn't find a part number. Didn't look like just the lens came out. On the E46s you could pop it right off....most of them.

My buddy put these Lamin-x films on his 330i and it looked real good.

Here is a link to what we would need.

Best part is, check out what their show vehicle is when you click on automotive.

Good luck!

Yeah, you may want to exaust all options before replacing the lens, cause it comes in the whole headlight assembly only. The lenses are actually VERY difficult to get off and cannot be done without cutting (baking in the oven alone does not work with our headlights). Oh, and they are about $1,500 for a pair.

I guess I will give it a good polish and put some film over it after. Can't decide between lamin-x or headlightarmor.com

I put lamin-x on mine last year and couldn't be happier. Went on so easily and is invisible now.

I have all my vehicles covered in VentureShield from head to toe.

Get the complete front end done including the headlight lens assembly and you will never have a problem with stone chips again.

Actually sanding and polishing does the job. The lens can't be replaced by itself. I would also do the side mirrors as well.

That Venture shield actually looks pretty neat! If my car was new I would definitely go for something like that! Too bad nobody maks something for the Zed that covers the ENTIRE hood!

I put venture shield on my car right after I got it. Only dif from the pattern shown on there site is that the hood piece doesn't have that dip that they show, it's a constant height up the hood. Two years, and no problems, except that cone scuffs from autox don't really come out. After all the pitting I have on my E39, I knew I needed some protection for the coupe.
