What is this A-pillar part, and how can I fix it?
Sorry guys, I've looked on RealOEM for 30 minutes and cannot find this part. I have no idea what it does but it kinda sticks out and it's bothering me. I think it may be contributing to some wind noise I'm experiencing with the car. Thanks in advance for your help!!!

I think it is there to create a seal for the front edge of the side glass. Otherwise wind would likely pull it away from the door at speed. I wonder if you could simply remove and reattach the one you have. Maybe it just got bumped at some point. I have no idea how it would be R&Red...

I was able to tape it, but looks like the push rivet is gone. I guess I will just buy one, can anyone verify it's item #8 and looks like this:

Looks like the correct part on the diagram, but on the coupe, they didn't look like that. They have a flat head so to fit under the rubber weatherstrip.
Looks like you should have 2 on each side, so just check the other side? |

I looked on the other side... Looks like that side is sealed with some butyl glue or something. I went to the dealer and got #8. This rivet looks too big. It would help to know if I can just pull this rubber door molding back.

Ok I just pulled the moulding back. Just pull straight down. Unfortunately this rivet is way too big.
Here is the correct RealOEM link for my 2.5i: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...42&hg=51&fg=40 Last edited by donoman; 07-30-2014 at 06:02 PM.. |

I don't want to give you wrong info, but FWIW the coupe uses 5 of these on each side to hold that trim piece in:
