Not sure. Placed the order this past Tuesday, maybe next week by the time it crosses the Pond and the States.

Wondering how this compare just in sound, to the Gruppe M intake. I know the performance is greater but wondering if sound is similar.

I have an AFE and I think it sounds good enough to tide me over until I can get one of these but I don't think the sound is in the same ballpark...not even the same time zone. These sound amazing. Can't wait to hopefully order one later next year.

I have a Gruppe M.

Based on the sound clip. The airbox is louder and comes off as sounding more organic compared to the Gruppe M.

Gruppe M doesn't really come on till around 4k rpm.

Might want to allow some time when you do make a decision to buy. Placed my order 3 weeks ago, they are making it this week. Cannot fault Evolve, these are all hand made. So I'll be patient. Besides, I want to couple this with Euro headers and still trying to decide which way to go with cats. Will send updates when received and installed.

I'm thinking the same. I'll have just put on E6 so as a present to myself I'll get this...or at least that'll be the excuse when I finally pull the trigger. haha

Yes I have driven

So far, I love it. I'll get some more pics when I can. Meantime, here's some videos. These are taken with a cell phone from the passenger seat with the top down.

Looking great, Devious! Tells us more about the installation and how the tune went. Expecting mine next week or soon after and plan to do it myself.

Looks beautiful and sounds great!

How does the end of the intake look? Is it pointing down or does it line up with the opening the stock intake used to get air? Just curious if the cold outside air flows directly into it or if it hits it higher up. Or do we need to utilize the brake ducts to get cold air to flow in?

Also curious about how the idle is. Has the tune put the car in limp mode at all when you smash the throttle fully down to accelerate?

Installation went ok. There were some quirks that I'll detail later.

Tune:
Reading out our tune is tough because for Z4's, we have to read the entire binary. Took me about 57. For whatever reason, flashing the evolve tune went much faster. Less than 30 minutes.

Both reading and flashing worked on the first try and there were no hicups.

The end of the intake only curves down slightly and aligns with the stock intake airduct by the headlight. No additional ducting is necessary.

Idle:
First time I started up after the tune it idled beautifully. Haven't gone into limp mode. Idle is great and overall throttle response is an improvement over both stock and sport mode. Tune has been great. Tons of power as well. I'm able to lift the front of my car now. Evolve balancing out the low end torque is really felt.

The one issue I have (same as Woots) is the hunting idle at cold start-up while holding down the brakes. The hunting is very steady and never dips super high or low, it will go away when you release the brakes, and you'll only see it once a day during cold start up. Might have an idea why its happening but will look into it further.
