Roof latch/brackets #

Hey Guys,

My latch is always squeaking, and I'm finally just giving in and getting a new ones. I keep putting felt tape on them but it eventually just comes off an the sound returns.

I'm checked:

But the diagram's has me lost, I think its #34 bracket
Is the part where the brackets clip on to easy to replace as well? The brackets seem easy.

I want to replace the latches both on the folding roof and the part where the brackets grab on too.

I'm wondering what I just remove the brackets and be done with it, do I need the latches?

where/when is it squeaking from? Between the seats when the top is down?

once the top is down. Around the area where brackets lock in.

I've been putting felt tape on the brackets and the sound stops. But the tapes just been wearing off and just falling off. I'm thinking of either replacing them or removing it all together.

Yeah I read it, did it, didn't work, even when I take the center piece off. When I go over bumps, it squeaks. Very annoying.

Yeah, I need to figure this out, I'm going nuts, even with the radio up, I can hear it. Sounds like mice are running around in the car...

Wow that would drive me crazy, I wish you luck!

fyi, on facelift cars I don't even think they have the latch at all.

yeah, I read that! that's why I'm thinking of just removing it! be done with this!
