lol, watch out for that mod bug. I can tell you the car was just as much fun stock in many ways. I find there are many hurtles to deal with when modding these monsters.

The stock seats in a Z4M weigh 27.5 kgs (about 60 lbs). A decent race seat weighs 7.5kgs or less (about 16.5lbs).

Pic below shows the difference using weight plates.

Long time no post. Nice to here from you man. Car is looking legit as usual. How do like the wing on the track? I have mine dialed in to 5 degrees and that seems to be the sweet spot for me.

I removed the entire air-bag system and installed the 4-point cage, that will become a 6-point with door bars.

Unfortunatley, I did not find a solution to the air bag light before I decided to go cage

Sorry, neglected to answer this. I'm loving the wing on the track! I feel that grip and stability on long sweepers is measurably improved. I have it at 7.5 degrees, using the wing tips to measure. Is that what you measure from?

And I love the wing on the street too in the way it alters yet suits the car. Most people struggle to identify the car without the wing. But with the wing, a even higher percentage of people are perplexed. I can almost see wheels turning in their heads..... trying to figure it out.

chris sorry to bump this thread...just a couple questions.

the sparco ring steering wheel is 330mm. my understanding is that it's slightly larger than our oem wheels. how does this translate to overall feel and look in the cabin? i like the ring because of the flattened bottom, but 330mm in our small cabin might be a bit larger than would be ideal?

did you choose the nrg 2.5 over the 3.0 only for looks? i think the 2.5 looks more streamline without those paddles.

i guess i'll also need the hub adaptor. i'm not seeing any particular hub adaptor for our cars...you mentioned you used the e46 adaptor which required some modifications before being plug and play. can you elaborate on what kind of adjustments were needed? i want to try and do this myself but won't take it on as a project if things don't line up and require some mechanical know how to make things fit.
