not much avail for 3.0si

as the owner of a 2006 3.0si. I find it puzzling that not much is available for it. Esp. when it comes to aftermarket exhaust. When I did a little research the Z4m's only account for about %10 or less of total Z4 production. yet there are a lot of mfg supplying parts to the least produced model.

seems that supersprint & eisenman is the only exhaust choice.

Jerry

yeah.. I guess it's the "why mess with perfection" type of thing.. or maybe they just see us 3.0si owners are cheap.

On a serious note, I have found the same as you. With that in mind, having come from a car that I had headers, cam, exhaust added, they can be rather LOUD and I am not sure what our cars would be like louder then stock.

I have noticed that they DO make a Supercharger for our 3.0si beasts, though - so there is that route if your looking for performance.

Possibly more parts for the M models because it's the performance minded model and people who buy it are probably more likely to go aftermarket. With that said, I would have expected the lesser model to have just as many parts simply because there's more of them.

I find that I'm satisfied with the power. just want a little nicer sound.

one thing I have found after moving to Germany. The cost of oem parts is way more reasonable than in the states. case in point. we have to run the long lic. plates here. so I checked into the oem plate holder that matches the front bumper curve. the USA based supplier quoted $118.00. my local BMW shop here in Germany sells the same part for €19.99 that's about $26.

that my friends is a certified first class rip off from the USA based supplier.

i encountered the same problem as you 2 years ago and unfortunately i had to go through few trial & error with different brands (manufacturers claimed perfect "fitment" but was far from the case). finally found 2 brands that made one for the 3.0si, one is bastuck which makes both a quiet/street version (slightly more aggressive than stock) and a race version (no midpipe muffler). the other brand is arqray but that's muffler only.

supersprint might fit but the system is overpriced and i've yet to see one that actually fit well. ss however does make headers specific to the 3.0si, only prob is 1) you'll get a check engline light and 2) it won't be a direct bolt-on unless you get the high flow cats, but any exhaust shop should be able to put on some kind of adapter for you

don't run a plate or use a rho-plate (rho-plate.com)

In Germany thuo shalt run a front plate. or you will have to deal with the polizei.
That Rho looks nice, but looks like it would not work with European plates. Which are 4" x 22"

Understood... if you're in Germany, you should really check out the Bastuck. The street version is TUV approved and sounds pretty nice, nothing too obnoxious and NO drone whatsoever. Sounds almost like a stock g35, but little quieter. If you went with no midpipe I'm sure it'd be much more noticeable.
