dead bulb replacement

Hello,

(I have bi-xenon 3.0si btw) I need to replace dead bulb in my car, this inner one with angel eye look. Is this the correct part number that I found - 63 12 7 170 858?

Or, just buy the bulb and swap out the dead one for a few bucks....

Like chickdr said, buy a BA9S 10W Halogen bulb for a few bucks. Need to dremel 2 tiny notches in the plastic for the bulb pins to release from the black plastic.

search here

Hi Ponta. I had to replace this bulb about a year ago. Fairly straight forward job just not that easy to access.

The sealing of the headlights is done by some foam in the rearward cover. Mine had not been touched for 11 years. Unless you can get this part to sit in exactly the same spot it will be difficult to maintain the seal. My headlight started accumulating moisture. I would recommend that you fit a new cover or replace the foam seal yourself (integrated on the OEM panel) as part of the job.

Ahh thanks, are you talking about this plastic cover with seal? It comes only as a one pice cover and seal inside it. I am going to change the bulb with a cover and if the headlight starts to accumulate moisture I will replace it aswell. I think there is no need for this if the old one keeps the inside of the headlamp untouched.

You should plan on doing both bulbs. It is likely that they are both the same age.

Can I wait till the left one is dead too? Don't want to spend unnecessary cash on that
