Another question on the Halo 9. Do all the steering wheel controls still work?

Sadly, no. I bought the PAC SWI-CP5 and had it installed at the same time and it does not work.

Getting ready to flush all of the fluids this weekend. Once I bed her down for the winter, I am looking to do the valve adjustment and VANOS rebuild.

You added some vents and then blocked it off?

I did!

To be fair, they are not fully blocked off, but hot air can still escape through the openings on normal driving / car wash / trailer hauling.

Once at the track, splash shields come right off with just 6 screws You can see I have quite a bit of stuff that sits right under the shields and cannot get wet. (that air filter would get completely drenched)

I also don't like water tricking in there as I'm seeing rust on some body and frame pieces. No bueno.

How did your CPS go? Quietly and throw a nice, specific code? Or did you have to call a flatbed of shame?

AH HA!
So I'm not the only one to have failed VT mounts!

And you're correct. They are not repairable, contrary to their original statement.
There's a thread here someplace on my switch to BimmerWorld and my custom heat shield.

Doing a flush of all fluids for Inspection II. Changed out transmission fluid, differential oil, power steering fluid, brake fluid, and coolant. Will wait on the oil change until after I do the valve adjustment and VANOS rebuild. Also replaced the A/C belt. The Royal Purple Synchromax that I put into the transmission has made shifting smoother.

Also, I built these from some 2x8 and 2x4 lumber so I could get my floor jack under the front jacking point. They worked well and were pretty inexpensive. From there I was able to get the front onto jack stands.

I have single thickness pieces, which worked fine on other cars in the past but which I now know aren't enough for this car. Off to the lumberyard.
