Engine braking not working
Hi,
Strange issue with my Z4 M coupe, when letting off the throttle completely instead of deaccelerating like it should it just coasts for a few seconds then it enigne brakes and goes back to coasting. This switching between the two happens repeatedly until 2000 RPM is reached. The car still slows down but much slower because of the coasting that's happening. By coasting I mean the RPM doesn't drop and you can feel the car isn't braking but just coasting as if in neutral. Any ideas? |

What gear are you in and what is your speed? Did this just start happening?

Scan it for codes?
I had mine go into a strange mode once when I had a flaky TPS. Ran OK, but was a little down on power and throttle return was very very slow.

How does the clutch feel while accelerating?
Is it slipping?
