Z4 rocker panel removal
Has any one ever replaced the rocker panel on a Z4 E85? How hard is it to change out. My driver side has curb rash and I would like to change it out myself. Thanks

It's a very easy uninstall/install. I think there's a DIY somewhere. I'll look around and link it here if I find it.
Edit: Here you go - for aeros but it's the same aside from the trimming. Thanks, Ian! http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62086

It's not bad, remove the expanding rivets on the bottom and by the wheel arches. Then gently pull on the front and rear of the rockers. That's where they clip in. Then slide the rocker forward (to front of car) and pull out.
When re-installing, make sure the pins of the inside of the rocker are lined up. Gently push each pin in, on at a time. Once everything is lined up in the middle of the rocker, then snap in the rocker front/rear. Make sure to push down where the pins were from the outside so you know they went all the way in. |
