Not tying the cage to the rear shock towers seems like a missed opportunity to reinforce them and maybe run a rear coilover setup.
The Classic Car Club of Manhattan Z4MC has a nice cage design: https://classiccarclubmanhattan.com/...o-part-review/ as does this example: https://www.panjo.com/buy/2006-bmw-z...ack-car-346814. Both of these have been around for a while and have build threads as near-top results when you image search for caged Z4M coupes. |

There's no benefit to running coilover rear shocks on a Z4MC. An adjustable articulating perch for the spring is all you need. |

is the center console still usable on this setup? I am contemplating getting a roll bar, but do not want to start cutting up the interior pieces. I thought you had mentioned that the owner didn't want the interior altered, was it you who put the forward braces through the center rear storage?

I think that people think that just because you want to reinforce the pickup points that it is structural. One must remember, that it is the springs, not the shocks which support the weight of the car. |
