Has anyone replaced the dash lights?

Hi I would like to replace all the orange button lights on the dash with blue lights sort of like the blue light mod for the 3000gt. I googled around but it doesn't look like anyone has done it and posted. Has anyone done this and how hard was it?

Try a search. I remember seeing something years ago.
IIRC, it involves removing and disassembling the pod and replacing all of the SMD LEDs.

How good are you with a soldering iron?

Also keep in mind, BMW specifically designed the dash to be orange as a safety feature. Other lights tend to stress the eyes when switching from looking between the street and dash.

I'd consider doing the same if possible. My wife's Maxima also has orange dash lights, never cared for them either.
