Talking COVID-19 with friends/family Psychology?

Is it healthy/normal to constantly be talking about current pandemic? I went for a walk in my community this morning and talked to some neighbors and all they want to discuss is politics and current events. Talked to mom and dad all they want to talk about is pandemic and fake "death rate". Talk to my son all he wants to talk about are stocks. Do you think this is all normal and is everyone else experiencing the same thing amongst family and friends?

I'm all for an intellectual conversation and understand it is affecting everyone but I guess am just tired of it.

Strange times I guess I just feel like its getting to be too much

Thoughts?

I just don't talk to anyone. Then again I did that before the pandemic.

I mean what do people normally talk about? I would imagine whatever is going on in their lives. For most people right now there ain't shit going on but this pandemic so I guess it's only natural that's what people would talk about.

People talking about a thing that is affecting the world is normal, yes. If you have friends talking about it all the time then find new friends.

It's better than talking about nuclear war with Korea because it's all the rage.

But yeah, COVID is enough already, but it'll be that way for some time I suspect.

What is the correlation between discussing current events and being a bad friend you schmuck.

I am just venting, so take your beta ass and go back to to covid thread where you belong.

Whining on the internet about people around you talking about world events is as beta as it gets, next to cuckery.

Maybe you should get a Tumblr account.

A good day.
I like your approach very much. I think it is best that when family comes over, to not even talk about the madness surrounding this epidemic. Granted, it would be difficult to avoid if you knew someone who suffers because of it, but with that not being the case, there are many more positive things to talk about. On these forum, I believe, it is done out of pride, as well as to goad people. I doubt any of us would do this to any family, unless we like to set them off for kicks.

My brother has just undergone his third SWAB test, hoping that the result will be negative again.

Do they count his third negative test in the overall total count, or only once since he's still negative like he was with the first test.

The reason I'm asking is because apparently when you test positive the first time, and then go back for another test which comes back positive before you have fully recovered, both positive tests are counted in the total number of people infected. I can only imagine how inflated the numbers have been.

Most of the problem is people watch too much garbage news, where every night they scare people about how 100 more people in their town now have it compared to yesterday. Obviously it's something to be concerned about, but I do have some hatred towards the media for scaring the shit out of elderly people. I have family friends who won't even leave their house and go outside in their yard because they are afraid someone riding a bike 100 feet away could give it to them.

Sounds like you need some different friends to associate with. I stopped by my grandparents' yesterday. Both of them are 80, and we maintained a safe distance. One of my grandfather's farm tractors is down and needs a new water pump. I told him I'd order one online, but it might take a few weeks. He goes "oh yeah... I heard there was some sort of virus going around... I forget the name.. " Have to keep a sense of humor about this stuff.
