E86 Z4MC Motorsport (VLN) GT
E86 VLN GT supercharged special, needs new home. Asking £75,000 cost way more to build!!! Starting with a brand new shell, part assembled, bought directly from BMW Motorsport in 2013. This was originally built up by Team AC Schnitzer for BMW Motorsport in 2007, as a race program replacement, for any damaged car, that may have required it at the time. However the more plentiful E89 race cars took over, and the shell was left in storage. Extremely rare, I am led to believe only around 12 genuine race cars exist. Chassis number 014 This shell has been slightly adapted by me, to two seat configuration, from the original single seat with long range tank. Supplied with long range special Kevlar tank cover, if needed. Ultimate track day toy for driver and passenger, or can be converted to pure race car The engine and gearbox are mounted approx 100mm further back than the road car to assist weight distribution Lots of special parts from BMW Motorsport in this build, and yes they were VERY expensive! S54 engine is a special build from a sound E46 M3 donor car Complete strip down and careful rebuild, lots and lots of new parts Low compression forged pistons approx 9.0:1 to accept turbo or supercharged Uprated con rods, and bolts Gas flowed cylinder head with stronger hold down studs Dry sumped with largest Pace BG pump and ARE pan Lightweight TTE flywheel with Tilton HD twin plate 7.25” clutch Quaife QBE 69G 6 speed sequential straight cut gearbox with thicker input shaft Vanos deleted Dyno at RDT at Harworth, revealed 456BHP at the wheels, plenty more if you want to go the turbo route Twin switchable Bosch 044 pumps to supply fuel 750cc injectors Radium billet aluminium fuel rail ESS Gen 3 supercharger kit, using the Vortech V3 centrifugal pump Ramair cone filter Air to air intercooler VAC Motorsport billet oil take off block with remote Wix Motorsport oil filter and separate Mocal thermostat Full carbon panels, these are genuine items NOT copies Inbuilt AP air jacks and lance Nitron 3 way bespoke suspension Adjustable blade anti roll bars front and rear, proper tubular lightweight BMW Motorsport Z4 specific items AP 6 pot front race callipers AP 4 pot rear race callipers Carbon discs front and rear, these could be replaced with iron rotors, as the callipers can accept either Rays 10" and 11” x 18" TE37 SL lightweight wheels with Pirelli slicks, 285 x 645, 305 x 680, and a spare set of Rays wheels/tyres Motec PDM, ECU and dash and switch pad Bespoke Mil spec loom throughout Geartronics air operated paddle shift Quick release steering wheel Plastics 4 performance poly windows Heated front screen Coolers for engine, gearbox and differential (Setrab) Electro/hydraulic PAS Cobra Imola Pro seats and OMP 6 point belts, (not in date for racing) Large capacity Radtec aluminium radiator Stainless exhaust system, without cats, but still fairly quiet for track days Large real carbon fibre rear wing with carbon diffuser Motorsport Z4 specific door mirrors Plumbing has been carried out in stainless braided hoses, (Teflon lined for fuel) Fittings are Aeroquip, Earls, Goodridge and Fragola Huge receipt/paperwork file Any more info, please ask. Is there a link to this specific racecar specs? I'd love to see everything done to it. Definitely a transformation.

Thanks for all the support, I know it's time to move on, can't just keep looking at the beast every time I go into the garage. The total build cost was truly ridiculous, but there again, the price of the package from Motorsport was reputed to be 250,000 euros in 2006/7. I suppose the car is worth quite a bit in parts, LOL! Could be converted to a race car for a historic series, I have the Kevlar long range fuel tank cover, that fits in the passenger side.
I have heaps of receipts, DMSB certification for the roll cage, spare wheels with Pirelli slicks, air jack lance etc. There must be a passionate, future new owner, out there, somewhere. Cheers |

Skiddy.
I sold a Marcos and TVR back in the day on this site. https://racecarsdirect.com/Category/Details/9/race-cars They cater to “not your everyday car” types. GLWS

Hi, and yes I have used that website on several occasions, buying and selling, lots of weird and wonderful stuff! I am sorting an advert out for it, but thought it worthwhile to place one on here, as the following for modded Zeds is possibly greater in the land over the pond?

Amazing build and truly an amazing car, with attention to detail second to none by its current owner. Sad to see your selling it, but I get it. It's soo much hard work and I can't even fathom on what you went through to source the proper parts. Truly an amazing build. I wish you all the best in your sale, and I thank you from my heart for all your help and support for my own build. At the quality of this build, this should sell fast. Just wow!!! Mate, if your ever in DXB, beers on me.

Thanks Vanne, If I get thirsty, I'll be in touch!
Hoping to get out for a farewell track day when the weather improves! All the best with your project, must be rewarding to see it coming together. You are going down the route that I very nearly did, if I couldn't get the Motorsport shell. Cheers |

Still sat in the garage awaiting freedom, me and the car! Hoping to get some bids later in the year, motivated to sell, might even consider without engine and box? Happy Zedding everyone.

Amazed the car is still available. The parts alone would cover the purchase price, let alone the countless hours that have been put in to painstakingly assemble this one off masterpiece. Amazing turn key race car for not much money.
Glws mate.

Thanks fellow Zedders, car is sat in the garage waiting for an enthusiastic new owner, but it may take a while due to the world being put on hold! It could actually be broken for more money, I guess! LOL
Plenty of interesting bits, the sway bars alone, are a work of art. I could go on, but hopefully at this discounted price, someone will buy the car in one piece. |
