Finally somebody did it, found headlights lenses replacement for our cars
Ideal for folks who doing retrofitting or have edje developed micro cracks

Thought z4 headlight assembly was a sealed unit so how do these supposedly work....

You would have to bake them in the oven so the glue becomes pliable, remove the lens, reinstall the new ones. Vids on youtube.

Most headlights are sealed, and not clipped on like they are on E46 BMWs.

The z4 headlights are not gluded, but sealed with permaseal. They have to be cut open. Baking, unfortunately, doesn't work on this model. You can break permaseal, but its very hard and best left for the folks that do headlights for a living

This was my experience when I customized my headlights. The E85/6 lights are not for an amateur to crack open and replace the lens. The guy who did mine had 10+ years of experience and said these were some of the most difficult headlights he had worked with.

I was not aware. Thanks for the correction. I would have found out the hard way lol.

I've done several dual Halos on Z4s and the lens are permanently glued on and unfortunately can't be baked to remove.

if you carefully destroy original lens during disassembling without damaging housing it's possible to glue back new lens in

Have you successfully removed the complete lens this way?

I never said they could not be removed, I said they could not be baked off. Sure you can break them into pieces and remove them that way, but it will be very tedious and you may will not get all the pieces off, especially where the glue to holding well.

You can use a rotary tool with cutting wheel to carefully cut them off and glue the new ones on. For those with bad lens that can't be polished, this may be a good option.
