The Turner kit is a pretty good place to get your extra parts list from. The extra nuts at not necessary, you can use the factory hardware. The csl dipstick would actually be more difficult to check the oil since it's essentially under the intake. I had bought it prior to doing a bit more research on it. The only thing I needed outside of what turner listed is the 5/8" heater hose to extend the crankcase vent.

I'll see if I can borrow a GoPro with a wind sock...phone videos are almost useless :

Please! Really debating this exclusively for the sound.

Bought an AFE to hold me over and it's "good" but would like even more.

Would very much like to hear your exhaust setup as well. Hows the rasp?

it sounds amazing on the top end
I have the CSL dipstick and to be honest I don’t find it difficult at all, plenty of space to reach and pull it to check oil. The biggest “issue” is that you may drip oil in the process.

I did see the list on their website but I also read some parts weren’t required as we could use factory parts like you stated above. So I can do away with the CSL tube and the dipstick and also the nuts.

The other items such as “bracket”, does Anyone know the part number(s) or what bracket they’re referring to?

I ended up buying the whole kit for an extra ~$500. ECS and Turner have a 15% discount on the airbox alone and also the airbox kit. In case anyone is interested go check it out. An airbox at $1274 is not bad at all!

Airbox seems to be listing for $1999 now. If you snagged it for under $1300...... SCORES !!

Great picture?

Probably a dumb question but one I've had since I first saw these: is there an air filter?

yeah there is a giant panel filter that sits basically where the silver screws are on the top of the intake in that pic.

I basically used them all minus one bolt. I did not get the CSL dipstick and opted to rotate the original 90 degrees.

One install note is that depending on what engine mounts you have and high or low you motor sits you will need to pay attention to how you mount the box. Initially when I installed the box the very top of the intake trumpet was contacting the under side of the hood. It was just barely grazing the hood and it was probably only under hard cornering. You can bend the mounting bracket down a bit and slightly rotate the box so it move the trumpet down a couple MM. That seemed to do the trick for me.

Video for those interested in the sound. I was not really pushing it for these laps as I just finished putting the car back together. The mic is mounted in the engine bay

Thanks man! I think it might even sound better then in that video. I don’t think my throttle was opening 100% in that video due to one of the clamps for the intake moving a bit and interfering with the throttle shaft.

In that video I have the mic located on the drivers side of the engine bay. Video title changed haha!

Haha! Yeah the sound is worth the prices of admission alone. Then the power is a amazing addition to that.

I paid $1400 or something for the box alone. I know there was a group buy on the old M3forum the price was down to $1200 or something.

Intake tested

Build Journal did some dyno testing on the new Turner CSL intake. Pretty good results. They clouded the issue a bit with their different iterations, but it appears that the intake gained 25 hp and 16 ft/lbs (pass 2 compared to 4).

https://thebuildjournal.com/reviews/...-dyno-results/

Also, interesting side note that the Eventuri only produced 6 more HP at peak over the stock intake and actually underperformed up til 7,000 rpm.

I watched the video again (posted Above) and just noticed the Lamborghini almost lose it at 5:30 😬 nice save! Thanks for that good dyno info Michael! I just got my airbox, seems to be intact, great quality, no scratches or swirls. TMS did an awesome job with this piece. Now, I patiently still wait for my car to be out of the shop so I can have all the mods installed...
