New car possibility.

Hey all! I've snuck over from the 1 series forums. During my search for a 6 speed 1 series(incredibly rare for some reason.) I stumbled upon the z4 3,0si. Now, I'm a few months a away from hopefully purchasing one (sorting out my old 1 series). What are some common issues to look for in a z4? I'm familiar with the n52 engine and it's issues but aside from that I'm next to clueless on everything else on the Z(suspensión, transmission, interior, convertible, and electronics) My Plan Is to build it as a track toy/DD. Any tips are appreciated and I hope to join the z community soon .

You should put this in the general forum. You'll get more traffic.

The 3.0si is a really sweet platform. Complaints are standard Z4, mostly electric steering feel or lack thereof. Electric water pump, top motor, a few trim bits, DISA valves in the 3-stage intake are potential issues. The biggest drawback is the lack of LSD.

Look for a car with M Sport suspension and M Sport seats. If you're going to change the seats anyway the latter is not as important.
