-Yes, you want to tint your windows. Every car ever made looks better with tint, and it keep the car cooler and is better for your eyes.

The diffuser does work at sucking the car down and I guess other components do the same. My M Coupe is more "planted" and feels more stable the faster you go.

I'm sure it's much more stable than the most american cars (with exception of the new corvette z06)... but in comparison to a good sedan (e46, e90... dc c-class.. audi a4) in a Z4 you have more stress one the Autobahn. This is not cause of the aerodynamics... it's just a tribute to the good handling. The aerodynamic components are "german standard". And a good diffuser would not even work... cause the underbody isn't cladded enough. A Ferrari is an other world

The shorter wheelbase of the Z4 would make it a little less stable than a sedan, or even a 3 series coupe - all things being equal. But they aren't. I've had my E39 M5, E39 540iT and Z4 MC all over 140mph and while they are all what I consider to be stable cars the Z4 MC is noticeably more stable than the others. This is even more apparent at the track. I suspect there is a significant difference in the downforce (or lack or lift) between the E46/E39s and the Z4 (at least the Coupe).

There are a lot of things at work, center of gravity...which we've discussed elsewhere and unless one of you gets a wind tunnel scale combination, it's going to be hard to find out the true downforce you get, but i'm thinking with the front and rear wings integrated into the bumpers, you're going to get more than stock down force, the raised hood and coupe contours can't hurt either...but...like I said...it can still get twitchy at speeds over 140, never felt dangerous, but definately twitchy.

Can you post some pics of the gaps between the CF roof and the rest of the car? It's kind of hard to tell if the tolerance is at the same level of the OEM roof.
I'm looking at ordering an AW 08 Z4MC in two months once the E91 I just ordered shows up and I was thinking about sending the car to Wagon Werks to have this done before I even drove it home. Car looks fantastic, I'd just want to have OEM fit and finish. I had some CF parts on my old E30 M3 and the gaps weren't as nice as the original parts from the factory. Nevertheless, thanks for being a pioneer! One more thing, did the CF roof have accomodations for the bolts that held the original roof on, or is it only secured by the sealant? |

He's got some Hi-Res shots he can send you links to...it'd probably be easier to PM him, I think sixspeed spends most of his foruming on z4-forum.
