has anyone been able to find replacement reflectors in white? that would look ok i think, at least on black car, relative to nearby hamburger and headlights.
spent 2 hours already on google trying to make my own! what is the exact size of the reflector, and can it be extraceted from the housing? otherwise, the black 3M reflective vinyl may be the ticket for me. the red rears are good to my eye, feeding off the taillights. but orange!!!! |

Just paint them,
Take your time and sand them smooth first, I made a thread on how I did mine, Ive done a few rattle can re-paints and with time taken the results are awesome

I just installed my painted versions this past weekend. Sadly I forgot to take 'after' pictures of them installed!

Those don't look like Alpine White to me
Hope you can get a refund/exchange. I say... paint 'em instead. |

Painting them isn't hard at all, and if you take your time you ill get excellent results,
I don't have a link to the mini diy thread I made but its very straight forward, I could talk you through what I did if you like, Or I'll try to find my old thread, I painted mine and you really can't notice them the color matches so well, I just took my time layer by layer and lots of clear

Yea, I will be painting them.
The decals were dirt cheap. Live and learn.. But painting them will have to hold off until it is warmer outside. |

I went ahead today and put the decals on just to see how they looked.
Not bad but not perfect. |

I'm going to have to get the nose resprayed at which time I'm getting my reflectors painted. After they were on for awhile I agree with the "Not bad but not perfect" sentiment. Quote:
Can you get the reflectors out without removing the nose?

remove the wheel and open the headlight access panel, They are stuck on with tape, just push them in and they will pop off, Just don't drop it!

^^Agreed.
The slight color discrepancy brought back bad memories... http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewto...=6352&start=19 But I corrected them late last year so now I'm happy. Access to the reflectors were a little difficult (esp if you have bigger hands) but manageable. I tied a piece of rope to one of he reflector legs just in case it did fall before I could catch it. Didn't want to repeat what Starscream went though LOL |

I guess my can of Imola was a lucky perfect match then,
You can see I used it on the grilles, and the reflectors in that pic I posted, I have a tad left and was thinking of doing the washer jet nozzles,

Anybody buy alpine white one's from dan's decals?
I just got mine in the mail and they look silver/grey! I can't compare to my alpine because my mc only gets delivered tomorrow (yes, already bought a stubby and decals ) but I won't be back home until monday to check. So any alpine's have the same issue, or did I just get the wrong color? Says alpine white on my invoice... edit: nm, mine look like shipkillers. |

^ They look fine to me.
I still haven't installed my rear painted version, I'd rather have the extra visibility with them lit up, than to replace them with the painted version for looks. Those decals look pretty good though. Maybe just being a bit 'anal' over the color matching of a sticker imo. I still like my painted fronts though, which still aren't 'perfect' match (although in person it looks better than in photos so go figure!)

I ordered a set (4 decals) on 6/18, and they apparently shipped on 6/22 (Site had not been updated, and I got an email confirmation from Dan saying it had been shipped)
I have been in contact with Dan for the last couple weeks, but still have not received any package/envelope

I painted mine myself.
Bought some color matched paint in an aerosol & it turned out pretty good. It actually matches the body slightly better than the bumper. I did my plate frame as well.
