Oil Question
Hi,
In my E85 with 90,000kms what do u recommend me to use ?, I just bought it. 5w 30 or 5w 40 ?, I just bought Red Line 5w 40 I have a Mini Cooper 2006 R53 and I am using Red Line 5w40 and any problem at all, I know this is a very very good brand of oil. Please tell me what u recommend me, thank you in advance!! |

Use the manufacturers recommend viscosity listed in the owners manual. Or just search the forum for the hundreds of post on oil viscosity. It hard to provide a recommendation when the engine model in unknown.

I used the M1 0w40 , used to be in the ll1 approval but either they didn't renew or something. I recently switch to the 5w30 pennzoil euro synthetic for summer and 0w40 for winter
Did you have any service history with it ?

Yes the last owner is my friend and he always every 5k kilometers (3100miles) do the oil change and used BMW oil 5w30, but I have the 2 gallons of Red Line 5w40 and now I dont know if I can use maybe only for this oil change and then return to 5w30

Iv'e used Mobil 1 syn 5w30/5w40 but currently on Royal Purple 5w30.
