Aftermarket Stereo for 10-Speaker model with DSP
Hello!
I have a 2004 BMW Z4 Convertible 3.0i 6-spd Manual Looking for some help with figuring out what to do with my stereo. I want to change my in dash receiver, but I'm seeing that with 10-Speaker models you can't just plug and play. I am not looking to upgrade my audio quality, I just want Bluetooth functionality and custom EQ tuning. From my VIN Decoder: S677 HiFi System Professional DSP S645 BMW US Radio S692 Preparation, BMW 6-CD Changer I-Bus S662 Radio BMW Business CD S639 Preparation F Mobile Phone Cpl. USA/CDN Appreciate any information, Thanks! |

After much research and gnashing of teeth, I ended up installing a Grom Audio unit. All other roads lead to a complete new system, including speakers, head unit, amplifiers, subs, etc.

I also see that my VIN decoder shows DSP, but I don't see it anywhere on my headunit

Here is some good info:
https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthr...highlight=grom Mine is a 2006 Z4M Roadster w DSP headunit and 10 speakers. It is the least upgradeable stereo option to come with these cars. I had a shop do the install, I think it was $150, including running a cable to my mount. I bought a pro-clip custom mount, I've been using them for a long time and like their products.
