Z4M Goodbye Video
Well I had a great time with the M Coupe, and its time to get something else even better to replace it with. I made this video as a collage of some of the pictures and video I took of the car.

Very sad indeed. What is the replacement? The pictures at 2:10 is awesome.
Also a general note: Just curious is over drivers really find it comfortable to drive this car almost gangster style with your left hand at 12 o'clock... I never drive like that but I've seen over guys in G35s and corvette drive like that... I guess I prefer my hands at 9 and 3 or just 9 when I am shifting - it's more easy to turn the car quickly and controlled I believe.

It's funny, I almost never drove ganster style like that, probably just did it while I was shooting slowmotion and not thinking about driving. Only thing appealing to replace it with right now is a Boxster Spyder. I'd replace it with a new M3 competition if it sheds 200lbs, or if a S54 is put into another BMW (without turbos.) The M Coupe was def my favorite bmw, but the unfixable second gear grind issue, and problems with bits of pieces falling out in the interior made me question how much repairs would be out of warranty. Also, most of the rubber was failing and warping aroun the driver's side window and it was absolutely kept as a garage queen. For the price, even today, there still isn't another car that is even comparable.

^ very true statement - although by today's sandards of BMW's this car is one of the more "bare bones" models. Look at the new M3 with all it's electronic adjustments and gadgets... talk about a nightmare later on in it's life.
I think the M coupe remains relatively easy to repair and work on, although part pieces are more a premium due to limit production on some of the stuff. In terms of the S54, I think that is official done at BMW - so no more cars with that engine. (sad). I'd forgo the boxster. They are fun, but if that is the "replacement" for the Mcoupe, I'd consider it more of a downgrade (not that boxster's aren't fun - well that and they are kinda girly imo). I've been watching 977 prices carefully lately - as I'd like to jump into one of those down the road here. Good with whatever you decide!

The Cayman S is faster than a Spyder has a roof and A/C. I don't see the point of the spyder. It's trying to be a bare bones car but somewhat fails.
Sorry you couldn't keep the MC.

If your getting a spyder, it's obviously the buyers alternate vehicle and not the primary. I don't see anything fail about the spyder...on a side note...the boxster and the z4's are the only models that the convertible version is lighter than it's coupe counterpart, b/c they were vert design since conception. you just get a little more flex

Don't most track events require you to have a rollcage/rollbar in verts to even go on the track?
