While the Skyer Carbon Fiber items (which I Have) are mostly first class, however the FRP Side Skirts have their issues as do others makers with FRP. Skyers finish is is great with the Gel coat as there is almost no prep in terms of pin holes and the like, but fitment of the FRP Side Skirts is severely lacking along the top edge of the portion where they meet up with the upper rocker and the push connectors. Gap of a 1/4" the entire length of door sill even after using the rubber gasket material. Can be corrected with adding to the lip prior to painting. It's one thing to have trim FRP, Not to have to add. Also the nubs along the top edge on the front and back where they clip in are not tall enough to stay clipped in. Had to add material to this area so they would stay locked in. Lastly will require a little 3M adhesive epoxy in certain areas to stay affixed .
My suspicions for Skyer retiring the Side Skirts was due to fitment issues, IMHO. Last edited by cbpip; 03-03-2023 at 04:58 PM.. |
