Yes - the ability to play All Artists/Albums with a single button command.

I swear I posted this question earlier, it must have ended up in one of the other SILVERLINE threads.

My question was; I noticed on the EAS website that control from the iPod was added back onto the list of features. Specifically here:

"You can browse your iPod with the steering wheel, radio or Navigation buttons and the iPod without booting into separate modes. Using the integrated DIP switches allows you to revert from DICE and Simple UI mode, Allowing the iPod to remain in "iPod UI" allows for a basic operation of the iPod's Clickwheel and can be switched to Enhanced DICE mode at any time."

Is this a typo or does the SILVERLINE also retain the iPod control functions? If it does that's great because I still find control from the iPod necessary at times if I were to use someone else's iPod, etc.

Also in "iPod UI" is txt display and charging retained? Thanks

The DIP switches can be set to a DICE mode (default) or Simple iPod mode, which only allows previous/next and ffd/rew commands. With the new features enabled in DICE mode - you are able to access any song on your iPod quick and easy.

The iPod's Clickwheel is disabled in DICE mode, since the most used (Artist, Album & Playlist browsing) commands are ported to the steering wheel controls.

For the original DICE, the nano (1g) click wheel is still open does that mean I can control it via iPod and still have txt?

Any way you can post DIY installation instruction in the thread or include a link? I'm curious about the difficulty level...

Previous Generation DICE kits will allow the 1st generation nano's Clickwheel to remain unlocked, but will not have Artist browsing/directory listings.

Sure - if we can get a Z4 to come in our facility for an install, we can shoot pictures for an instruction manual. In the meantime, here's a link to show how to access the CD Changer connectors:

Work out a super special upgrade price and I'd be happy to bring my 2004 non-nav Z4 up from SD. How much time would you need to have it for? PM me to set it up......

Quick question,
I don't know too much about car audio, I have an M Roadster with Nav, and Sirius,
I don't use the Sirius, and was considering taking it out and selling it,

I also know the car came with every available option possible from BMW, so would that mean I have DSP as listed on your site? I see its more $$ for a DSP car, also more for a Sirius Car,

Could you point me to what kit I'd need

The MY06+ Z4 & MZ4s came with Analog DSP. Here's the kit you need:

DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Kit for Z4, M Coupe/Roadster 03-08 (Trunk Interface)

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks Tom,
If I were to bypass the Sirius the kit would be $149 right now?
Or would I need the $20 add on for the Sirius? (sorry to be a pita I just don't want to order the wrong one)

Hey Tom, I have an '07 //MCoupe with Nav, without Sat and without CD Changer... Which kit do I need? If even applicable to my setup, is the "Radio Interface" install less complex than the "Trunk"? Also, which DSP selection do I need to make?

Since you have a MY07 w/ NAV, you'll need the trunk interface kit. You have Analog DSP in your vehicle, not requiring the external adapter:

DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Kit for Z4, M Coupe/Roadster 03-08 (Trunk Interface)

I got nearly the same car. Z4M Coupe / MY07 / NAV PROF. / DSP / NO CD Changer - But I don't know if the cables/wires for the normal CD changer are still inside, so I'm wondering if I need some extra cabels to connect with your ipod adapter?

Do you ship to germany?

Thanks,
Marcel

I just want to see how everything will look on my nav screen as I operate the IPOD. Im looking for something that is as close to navigating the actual ipod itself as possible.

Pictures are located on the first post, you can browse by the following options:

- Songs
- Artists
- Playlists
- Albums

It's as close as you can get for full browsing while keeping both hands on the wheel at all times.
