I cleaned my top for the first time yesterday

I purchased the 303 fabric top cleaner and protectant kit from amazon a few days ago. It arrived and I proceeded to use it on my new to me zed. I did everything that the directions said, but I only applied one coat of the protectant as the directions didn't say to do multiple coats. Upon further reading on the boards, it seems that people do multiple coats. Is it too late to add another coat, is one enough, or should I just wait until next wash and apply multiple coats at that time?

Sorry for the long post.

You should be fine for quite a while with one coat, one tip for tops if you have dust and stuff use a lint roller for clothes, comes up with soo much gunk

Thank you for the quick response. Thanks for your tip, I actually used a lint roller yesterday, as a cat lover, and owner of many wool and camel hair coats, I figured that the lint roller would work wonders. Glad to see it is a common thing.

Thank you again.

I also bought the 303 stuff and found that the cleaner was ineffective. It did close to nothing on the spots I have on my top. I have the beige top so the dirt really shows when it is concentrated in one area.

As for the protectant, I would leave it at one coat for now and when you start to notice the water not bubbling, you can repeat the steps you originally followed.

I used the ragg top and the cleaner wasn't super either.. There are 2 spots i couldn't get out and gave up. I also only put 1 coat of protectant.. but since the car will be garaged soon, i'll do it in the spring with multiple coats..

It rained today and it did a pretty great job of repelling water, but it is obvious I missed a couple of spots. Since I just did it 2 days ago, would it be a huge deal just to touch those spots up?

No big deal at all, the product was made for layering so you really cant mess it up no matter what u do

I have never used raggtopp, I got the 303 convertible top cleaner and protectant kit from amazon, and must say I'm very impressed with the product. It is easy to apply, and works very well. The only thing is I need to get better at applying it evenly.

I use raggtop and it is very effective.
Also the cleaner, I spray it on the roof and let it work for 10 minutes.
Clean it with a brush and fresh water and my top is like new.
First time I used the cleaner I applied it two times.
First time I used the protector I applied it 3 time.

I've had pretty good results with my Raggtop kit. I used a horse hair brush with the cleaner and while the top was wet I brushed in the cleaner very deeply. Then rinsed, and let the top dry before applying protectant. It turned out very nice and nearly all the spots of dirt and stuff came out and it really revived the look of the top.

I use a california pop-top cover (covers just windows and top) during the day while parked at work. The AZ sun is brutal, so I am taking no chances with UV breakdown of the top or my interior. The nice thing is rain is a thing of mystery... so it hardly every gets wet to expedite the breakdown...

I let mine soak for a bit when I used the cleaner. Then I applied it again and used a shoe/boot brush to "scrub" it. Then rinsed it. I used the lint roller before everything though. Then I applied 3 coats of the protectant. I got the two as a set from Autogeek.
