Carpet Replacement

I am wanting to replace the carpet in my Z4 but the OEM parts are $1,200 total. Yikes! Has anyone located a source for quality fitted carpets online? I couldn't find any from searching and couldn't find any search results here.

Also, has anyone tried dying their carpets? I want to go from beige to black.

I’d hit up the folks here who converted to full race car and ditched their carpets

Else try online junkyard database (car-part.com)

Thanks for the junkyard database link. Didn't know about it. I have pictures being sent from a car in NC. Including shipping, they only want $300 for front and back. Hopefully they look not too terribly worn. We'll see.

Have you considered ebay? Two are listed around the $150 price point. Search 'e85 z4 carpet'

I looked but I didn't do the proper search terms. Using your search I see the carpets you mention. They are only the rear piece though. I'll need the front piece too. The Interior carpet in these cars come in 2 pieces.

Thanks for the help.

I dyed mine from beige to black about 3 months ago. Used the cheap Ritt due you can get at walmart/target. Pulled the seats and trim out and used a sponge and scrub brush to get the dye down in the fibers. Turn out fine - no wear spots so far.

This is a good option' IMO.
I replaced the carpet in my car and it is one PITA.
First to remove the console and all all other peripheral trim bits. Expect to break some pieces. The plastic is brittle after 10 years.
Second to get the new rug in, especially where it tucks under the dash. There is a structural support that is fixed to the trans tunnel that it has to be fished around. I ended up cutting the carpet around that. Nobody would ever see it with console in place.

I will give this a try first. If it doesn't work out well, then I can always continue searching for used carpet. Not too much out there in great shape. That's for sure.

I figured I was never going back to the beige carpet (I wrapped all the aluminum dash and console trim pieces with leather and dyed my seats and extended leather door cards to a black and cinnamon 2 tone interior). The carpets turned out fine - the Z4 embroidery in the floor mats looks odd. I may get some cocomats.

Here you go, I found two front carpets in black using car-part.com. Call them since no price was listed. Hope this helps!
