Thanks Vane, your beastie is taking shape nicely, hopefully a bit quicker than my project!
Some more photos of bits and things, brackets for coolers etc.
I'll look out for some dash photos, or take some more.
Solid mounted diff has its own cooler.
I changed the single main rad fan to two smaller pull fans with ducting up to the bonnet vents, made a BIG difference to under bonnet temps. This was another advantage of the engine being further back. Photos of this later.

Is that dash panel commercially available, or was it a one off?

Also curious about your oil temps. I have a slightly larger oil cooler and am still seeing temps at inlet of 230f. I’m thinking about adding a second cooler in the routing. Something like a Setrab Slimline under the radiator.

Do you recall the radiator you installed?

The dash is commercially available, but at 1500us I'd have better things to spend my quickly ebbing cash :thumbs up:

(edit: OK make that used to be available..

maybe email them and ask if they are willing to make another, I am sure they still have the moulds)

The dash is available from BMW, but it is very expensive, it comes in 2 parts, the carbon bit and the lookalike standard dash behind it, which is made from fibreglass. Both are bespoke and fiddly to fit, like most parts from Motorsport!
Vanne, the dash you linked to, is different to mine, I remember that one of the Z4 VLN cars had a dash from possibly Flossman, which was listed in his catalogue. It might have been around $600 ish a few years ago, but don't quote me!! It is in one of the photos on the link.

Hi Michael, do you mean the size of the oil cooler for the engine or the water radiator?
There is very little room for adding stuff on my car, hence the compound arrangement of coolers, not ideal, but oh well! Motorsport used a water to oil cooler, but my application was somewhat different.

I was wanting to know what radiator you are using for the water.

Also, what are your oil temps?

Been noodling on a design to make my own CF dash. Even cut up, the stock plastic dash is fairly heavy at about 13 pounds. Of course, then this decision precipitates a decision on instrumentation. I don’t care so much for the available dash displays and kind of want to keep the analog look. Hmmm....

The radiator came from RadTec, it was from an E46 M3. I modded it slightly and mounted it at an angle, it's quite chunky!
Can't remember the oil temps on track, no warnings came up, wasn't aware of any issues, and it was a scorching day.

As for the dash, I know it isn't as simple as one thinks. I was going to cut up a standard LHD dash, but in the end went for the carbon jobbie, to complete the package. If I can find the photo of the parts, I will post it!

Inner arch fitting and ARB mounting, which picks up lower nose attachment. The adjustable ARB, or sway bar, to fellow Americans, is available in various diameters from Motorsport. The ARB mount area is really beefed up to take the rigours of track use.
